The Turcyos-2 submarine cable system is a fiber optic cable that became operational around March 2011². It spans a distance of 213 kilometers² and connects Turkey and Cyprus². The system is owned and/or operated by Turk Telekom². The landing points of the Turcyos-2 submarine cable system are in Samandag, Turkey and Tricomo, Cyprus². The cable was named TURCYOS -2 to meet increasing data traffic demands in the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), and grant users faster access to next generation technologies³⁴. It provides an 800 Gbps link to Northern Cyprus from Turkey⁴.
