The Nzadi Cable System submarine cable is a project that aims to connect the African continent to South America through a high-speed fiber optic cable network. The project is being led by Angola Cables, a telecommunications company based in Angola.
The Nzadi Cable System will span approximately 12,000km, with landing points in Luanda (Angola), Fortaleza (Brazil) and Miami (USA). The cable system is designed to provide high-speed internet connectivity, data transfer, and voice communication services to businesses and individuals in Africa and South America.
The project is expected to cost around $260 million and is being funded by a combination of investment from Angola Cables and other partners, such as the West Africa Cable System (WACS) consortium.
According to the project plan, the Nzadi Cable System is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. Once operational, it is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and communication services between Angola, Brazil, and the USA, as well as provide a new route for data traffic between Africa and South America.
