The Luwuk Tutuyan Cable System (LTCS) is a state-of-the-art submarine cable project designed to enhance telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia. This submarine cable system aims to improve connectivity and broadband access for both domestic and international users, contributing to the overall digital transformation in the region.
The LTCS is scheduled to be ready for service in early 2024, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of Indonesia's telecommunications capabilities. The cable has landing stations strategically positioned to optimize coverage and connectivity. The primary cable landing stations for the LTCS are located in Luwuk, Central Sulawesi, and Tutuyan, which provide critical interconnection points for network integration and traffic management.
With a total capacity of 144 terabits per second (Tbps), the LTCS is equipped to handle the increasing demand for high-speed internet and data transmission. This substantial capacity will facilitate improved services for users, support digital businesses, and enable a wide range of applications, including cloud computing, streaming services, and online education.
The lifespan of the Luwuk Tutuyan Cable System is projected to be approximately 25 years. This durability ensures that the infrastructure will be able to support the growing needs of the region for years to come, making it a significant investment in the future of digital connectivity in Indonesia.
