India Europe Xpress (IEX) is a submarine cable system that connects India and Europe via the Middle East. The cable system spans a distance of approximately 15,000 kilometers and is owned by a consortium of companies including Bharti Airtel, Omantel, Etisalat, and Reliance Jio.
The IEX cable system was designed to offer high-speed, low-latency connectivity between India and Europe, enabling faster and more reliable communications between the two regions. The cable has a total capacity of 15 Tbps and is equipped with the latest submarine cable technology, including 100 Gbps transmission equipment.
The IEX cable system has multiple landing points in India, including Mumbai and Chennai, and also connects to several major cities in Europe, including Marseille, France; Palermo, Italy; and Savona, Italy. The cable system also has a landing point in the Middle East in the city of Barka, Oman.
