The Havhingsten/CeltixConnect-2 (CC-2) submarine cable is a high-speed fiber optic cable that connects Ireland and Denmark. The cable measures approximately 447km in length and was built by Aqua Comms, a company that specializes in building subsea fiber optic cable systems.
The cable was designed to provide a high-capacity, low-latency connection across the North Atlantic, serving as a key link between Europe and North America. It is capable of transmitting data at speeds of up to 72 terabits per second, making it one of the fastest submarine cables in the world.
The Havhingsten/CeltixConnect-2 cable was completed in 2018 and is operated by Aqua Comms, providing connectivity to a range of international data centers and networks. The cable has been instrumental in supporting the expansion of global internet traffic, enabling faster and more reliable connections between North America and Europe.
