Colombia-Florida Subsea Fiber (CFX-1) is a significant submarine cable system designed to enhance connectivity between Colombia and Florida, USA. This cable infrastructure is poised to provide robust telecommunications services across the Caribbean and connect South America with North America.
The CFX-1 cable became ready for service in 2023, marking a crucial advancement in digital infrastructure within the region. The system features multiple cable landing stations, specifically located in Barranquilla and Jacksonville, facilitating efficient data transmission and reducing latency between the two regions.
With a total capacity of 72 terabits per second (Tbps), the CFX-1 cable is designed to accommodate the increasing demand for high-speed internet and data services, supporting everything from individual users to large enterprises.
