BCS North - Phase 2 is a submarine cable project that will connect the United Kingdom and the United States with high-speed internet connectivity. The cable system is designed to provide reliable, low-latency connectivity to major cities and data centers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
The BCS North - Phase 2 submarine cable will be approximately 6,400 kilometers in length, with a total capacity of 160 terabits per second. It will consist of six fiber pairs, each of which will be able to support up to 30 terabits per second of data traffic.
The cable system will be owned and operated by Aqua Comms, a leading provider of submarine fiber-optic networks. It will be built by TE SubCom, a global undersea communications technology provider.
BCS North - Phase 2 is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2020. It will provide a vital link between Europe and North America, enabling businesses and consumers to benefit from high-speed and low-latency connectivity across the Atlantic Ocean.
